Preparations Before the Puja Day of Worship: Thursday, known as Guruvar or Brihaspativar, is devoted to Brihaspati Dev. Vrat (Fasting): The observer takes a vow to fast from sunrise to sunset. Traditionally, only one salt-free meal is consumed after the evening Puja. Color Significance: Yellow is the sacred color of the day, symbolizing knowledge, purity, and divine light. Devotees wear yellow clothes and apply a tilak of yellow sandalwood or turmeric paste on their forehead. Even the altar and offerings are adorned in shades of yellow.
